Data Centers Infrastructure

The uninterrupted operation of Atrotech is based on the central data center infrastructures in Greece and Balkans. In order to ensure greater flexibility when it comes to connectivity with its partners providing you with the highest level of service, Atrotech has active central hubs in Athens (AIA Data Center, TI Sparkle IDC), Thessaloniki (Synapsecom) and Sofia, Bulgaria (Telepoint). The data centers are all high-end (Tier 3 & 4) so that they are consistent with the physical security of our services. Especially our AIA PoP is in the High Security datacenter, which has the strictest access procedures and the most advanced security infrastructure in Greece. Atrotech’s infrastructure standards and criteria are:

  • Easy access via main roads. Your technical staff can visit the site within minutes
  • Buildings highly resistant to different types of natural disasters
  • Safe installation perimeter monitored by a sophisticated CCTV system and guarded on a 24x7/365 basis. Controlled access to all areas with access control and biometric system
  • Infrastructures certified by ISO 9001 & 27001 and PCI DSS
  • A + B fully redundant power supplies to the Rack cabinets
  • UPS and generators with N+1 redundancy. The premises can support a main power outage for at least 48 hours
  • Air conditioning with N+1 redundancy. Temperature and humidity sensors so that the system automatically adjust to any change in normal temperature and humidity levels
  • Extinguishing fire with environmentally friendly suppression system (FM 200), suitable for use in a data center, which does not affect the health of your personnel or your IT and network equipment.
  • Presence of multiple carriers and operators within the facilities serving the easy interconnection (Hubs)
  • Infrastructure Monitoring Center on 24x7/365 to ensure proper and smooth operation

Network

Atrotech’s active nodes, in Athens, Thessaloniki and Sofia, are interconnected for the purpose of direct exchange of data for the smooth provision of services. All interfaces are protected by dual routing to achieve maximum availability of the backbone network. The capacities that can be served are several Gbps. The interconnection between Thessaloniki and Sofia, Bulgaria, is the shortest protected fiber optic network in both paths, ensuring the lowest latency possible in the market.
